It's that time of year! Well, technically it always is. But the time of year we're talking about this week is SUMM-AH! We brought on your favorite Traveling Nerd and the woman who will have you in pieces -- Lance and Sherice (!!!) to run down the list of ALL the big movies coming out this summer and our thoughts about them (if you listen closely enough, you'll even get some insider info!). So stop reading this really terribly written shownote page.. thing-y and give it a play!

*Please note that as we recorded this episode we didn't know Robert Downey, Jr signed on to co-star in Spiderman: Homecoming and did not see the "Bad Moms" trailer. You'll get what I'm saying when you listen.

This week's episode we deep dive into this year's WonderCon at the LA Convention Center. Comic Con's younger cousin isn't quite as big, but it still managed to have enough content for TGF show family member, Greg Mucino, to be busy (and not be a foodie) for three straight days!

We go through all the panels we (mostly Derek) were able to stay awake through and compare them to Con's past, present, and future.

Yes, it's already here. Festival season 2016 starts with Paleyfest! With it brings two of our favorite guests - Dominick and Greg join Myke and Derek to talk about this year's big TV celebration! How did it hold up? Find out!

Editor's (Myke) Note: SO sorry about the quality. I spent a lot of time hooking up all our fancy equipment only to accidentally record everything off of the laptop mic. On the bright side... it sounds like a "vintage" episode of The Geekdom Fancast! I'll make it up to you in love and kisses later.

We've had a week to mull over our thoughts on probably the most controversial Academy Awards to date. Since there was a lot of heat coming into this year's Oscars - we decided to bring in our coolest guests...

Dana Keels and Karolin Luna join us to talk about all the tension, the underwhelming ceremonies, the snubs, and some of the victories.

This week life has tried to put us down, but like Wade Wilson we're rising from the ashes to bring you a classic TGF episode. The only thing we both really got to bring you is Deadpool - so we're going to bring it to you HARD. We also just have a casual catch up chat about what we've been up to lately and a few shows we've been watching.

This week we (finally) countdown our favorite movies of last year, and we're looking forward to this year. And yes, we know we've already talked a lot of Star Wars, Mad Max, etc - but we go through all the movies we haven't gotten to talk about on the podcast.

You didn't think we were going to let the Globes go by without talking about them, did you? Don't worry we kept it entertaining. We brought on one of our favorite guests and discussed the Globes and how it might affect what the Oscar outcomes are going to be! It's a two-fer awards episode!

Oh, and don't worry, we get real rant-y when it comes to how "blinding" the Oscar noms are.

Our first episode of 2016. Don't worry, the obligatory "Best of 2015" episodes will be coming. We're working on getting our favorite guests on the show for those big ones, but on this "hosts only" episode we'll be going over some of the fun pop culture events that we went to and our thoughts on the SAG Award and Golden Globe nominations right before we get into award season.

Just like the Trinity of Han, Luke, and Leia we brought on three of the biggest Star Wars geeks that we know! Dana Keels, Lance Paul, and Greg Mucino all join us to talk about Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This is a huge spoiler podcast. We talk about everything RIGHT off the bat! Just warning you!

With all the Civil War and Dawn of Justice trailers invading our social media feeds lately, we figured we'd bring you our thoughts on the big superhero event that you can watch NOW -the Legends of Tomorrow prequel that is the Flash and Arrow crossover event. Then we talk about what we expect from Legends of Tomorrow and also what we thought of the Agents of SHIELD midseason finale. It's a superhero TV episode that needed something a little more... special. For that we have a new GUEST! Sam Ambrose joins us to bring tons of comic book insight to the show. Give it a listen! We also have a returning favorite - Lance Paul, the Traveling Nerd joins us as well!
